Joe: a bit of a wait. 30 mins...

JM: What was the visiting environment like?

The guy named Clint that works the window is rude and unhelpful. visitation is 1 hour 1 time per week; if you get in in time. i waited more than an hour. the place is unkept and makes visitors not want to be there. the visiting cell stank and had grime on the walls. i thought i'd catch something. it's gross and all wrong. everything has been privitized ie; phone, gifts, meals- it's all contracted out, lacks quality and is OVERPRICED. They should be ashamed. AND most of the people in there are on minor traffic violations, often unpaid tickets, turned into failure to appear, turned into warrant. OR people caught w/ drugs- usually marajuana. Bellingham is a very safe place and it's a shame we CHOOOSE to spend money on treating our citizens this way. I say we need to REFORM this industry.
